What is the role of an audit officer?
An auditor is an authorised personnel that reviews and verifies the accuracy of financial records and ensures that companies comply with tax norms. Their primary objective is to protect businesses from fraud, highlight any discrepancies in accounting methods, among other things.
How can I become audit officer?
After getting the post of Assistant Audit Officer, you must go for a training which is conducted by Indian Audit and Account Department (IA&AD) of CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General). The training period will be 3 months. There are 12 Regional Training Institute in India which provide the AAO training.
What are 3 types of audits?
There are three main types of audits: external audits, internal audits, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) audits. External audits are commonly performed by Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firms and result in an auditor's opinion which is included in the audit report.
What qualifications do you need to be an auditor?
Eligibility to become Auditor
To become an auditor, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting. However, some employers prefer candidates with a relevant master's degree in accounting or an MBA.
Candidates can also take up a course in computer accounting software such as Tally or other related diplomas.
